Résumé
The simplistic narratives and clichés used during colonisation urged Westerners to deny African culture as a whole. Indeed, African culture and beliefs were considered worthless by colonisers owing to Christianity, which they intended to impose as a new religion. African intellectuals have consistently produced literary works that challenge these stereotypes since then. As one of the newest generation of African writers, Nigerian novelist Ifeoma Chinwuba envisions international recognition of African culture and tradition through the promotion of traditional Igbo values in her work of fiction Fearless. This paper aims to demontrate how European and African cultures can coexist by studying the concepts of adaptation and resilience through the lens of postcolonial theory.
