The pursuit of ego and notoriety has diverted humanity from divine principles, resulting in an unrestrained quest for titles and public acclaim. Accordingly, this article endeavors to examine the human challenge to natural laws through the lens of psychoanalytic theory as applied to the novel Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus. This analysis aims, on one hand, to demonstrate how humans contest the divine order governing all earthly creatures-exemplified by the character of Victor Frankenstein-and, on the other hand, to reveal the detrimental consequences arising from the isolated application of scientific knowledge.
