Résumé

This study investigates the impact of immersive informal conversational practices on enhancing the speaking skills of EFL adult learners. Utilizing a program named "Chats in English", a six-month longitudinal study with three participants explores the effectiveness of stress-free and spontaneous interactions. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in speaking skills, indicating heightened autonomy among learners. The positive outcomes align with theories emphasizing the importance of social interaction, comprehensible input, and a positive affective environment in language acquisition. Suggestions include integrating regular informal conversations into language curricula, providing educator training, and fostering learner autonomy.
